Surjit Chowdhary is a highly experienced legal finance and operations professional with over 35 years’ experience working within solicitor practices and professional services businesses.

Throughout his career, Surjit has specialised in legal accounts, financial management, compliance, operational systems, and practice management, working with firms ranging from boutique practices to some of the UK’s largest legal aid organisations.

Prior to joining Gold Jennings, Surjit held senior finance and operational roles at a number of established solicitor firms, including Vyman Solicitors and Dixon Ward Solicitors, where he was responsible for financial oversight, compliance, systems implementation, management reporting, and operational development. He also played a key role in the growth and financial structuring of Duncan Lewis Solicitors during its early expansion.

Surjit brings extensive expertise in SRA Accounts Rules compliance, legal aid billing, financial controls, cashflow management, and law firm operational systems. He has considerable experience implementing and improving legal practice management systems, including Actionstep, Proclaim, Leap, Osprey, and Xero.

In addition to his legal sector experience, Surjit has worked alongside Chartered Accountants in audit and advisory roles and has broad commercial experience.
